We Experiment With a Very Small New York Apartment
We had to go outside our usual focus to find a home that offers a remarkable challenge in small space manager. In a December 13, 2009 article in The New York Post, "Cozy-crazy couple makes tight all right in the city's tiniest studio," Angela Montefinise writes about how one New York couple is able to live comfortably in an 175 square-foot, studio apartment.

Happy Holidays from RowHouse!!
The holidays are the perfect time to reflect on the things one loves, family and friends. When thinking of family and home, and how to happily combine the two, we consider a few of our favorite things.

Shopping at a Farmers' Market
October 15, 2009 - For nearly as long as there have been cities, there have been open air markets. As people started to live in closer proximity, there wasn't room to grow produce or raise livestock. Farmers, who lived in the outlying areas of development and could grow things, would bring their surplus to the city to sell. Shopping at the outdoor market was a part of the daily domestic routine, where you got everything from dinner to news.

Philadelphia Brewing Company's RowHouse Red
September 17, 2009 - Departing from our normal presentation, technically this is not a row house but rather a homage to row houses in the best way we can think of. In the years we've been researching row houses, we've come across many business owners who name their businesses after our favorite abode, Row House Restaurant, Row House Framing, Row House Decoration etc...

Old Meets New in South Philadelphia
August 2, 2009 - Sharon and Jeremy were intrigued long before their home was completed. They would sit at a nearby café and admire the home's beautiful copper flashing. They said they just "knew something interesting was inside."

Great Gear: BBQs for Small Spaces
July 10, 2009 - Nothing says summer like BBQ. Just because you have a very small backyard or patio, doesn't mean you have to forgo the pleasures of cooking outdoors in the summer. Here, in Philly, some residents don't let the lack of a private space get in the way of a tasty BBQ. These BBQs can help!

Corktown, Detroit, Michigan - A Row House Time Capsule
May 12, 2009 - Historic, working class, dwellings are often hard to find in America's older cities. Many fall prey to highway expansion and urban infrastructure projects. See a survivor that is getting some much deserved TLC.

Making Your Older Home a Little More Green
April 20, 2009 - The Philadelphia Preservation Alliance offers free workshops for homeowners in Philadelphia. The workshops are a great opportunity to learn more about preserving and maintaining older and historic homes.

The Philadelphia Rowhouse Manual
March 13, 2009 - Philadelphia has a lot of row houses, more than any other type of dwelling. In fact, the city has such a rich history of row houses that the row house could be the official dwelling of Philadelphia, if they had such a thing. Read more.
